Plot Synopsis – Overall Summary
A young girl in year 13 has been receiving texts from her ex-boyfriend Jack to a threatening point. She tells her friends about this and begins to worry as he won’t stop after telling him she is not interested, her friends are concerned after they always feel as though they are being followed whilst walking home from school together, they resort to getting lifts home from one of her friend’s boyfriends to avoid walking. One day in school Nancy, receives a message from Jack during a lesson and thus gets her phone taken away and is issued an after-school detention because of this. This means she must stay late after school and walk home in the dark as it is the middle of winter, it is cold frosty and dark. Jack, is a 20-year-old but he is friends with people in Nancy’s class and hears about the detention he then thinks of the idea of waiting for her and follows her home to ambush her and speak to her trying to beg for her back. His attempt fails and she tries to tell him to leave her alone and he ignores her and persists in trying to work things out, luckily she manages to ring a friend who is close by and they drive to her house so as Jack and Nancy approach the house he turns back worried as Nancy’s friend and boyfriend are waiting on the drive. For a while he begins to leave her alone until the rumour is spread that Nancy has been seeing another boy, this drives Jack crazy and he plans to kidnap her and make her his own the way he wants. He makes sure her friends boyfriends cars tyres are slashed and therefore she must walk home, he waits for her to be on her own and then pushes her into the boot of his car. Nancy must escape.

Nancy is awoken by a notification on her phone, we see a message from Jack (her ex) threatening her and making her feel as if she's being watched. She choses to ignore the first message and begins her morning routine, we see Nancy experience a flashback of her ex's intimidating face. She brushes it off and continues to get dressed. From then, Nancy perseveres and attends school, however we are reminded of the constant threatening messages from her psychotic ex boyfriend as her phone continousley pings during her studying. She then gets up to leave school and is alarmed by a particularly harmful message saying she's being watched. Following this, we see a disturbing montage of Nancy being followed home by Jack, anxiety is built through the uncertainty of where Jack is. Nancy nervously paces home and eventually reaches her door and slams it shut behind her for safety.
